L”Astemia is the winery in Barolo where the art of winemaking and design meet, creating a multisensory experience. L”Astemia brings a new vision to the Langhe. The first wines are produced in 2010, and a decade later it begins its conversion to organic production, with the first certified vintage in 2023.
A new scenario opens up, the result of an evolving awareness nurtured over time, which has now reached its maturity. It’s the beginning of a new path, marked by a deep respect for the territory and the people who inhabit it, with the aim of making a product whose content lives up to the form. The hectares have grown, and the ownership of the vineyards guarantees our commitment to taking care of our land, landscapes and products.

Who is L”Astemia?
Sandra Vezza, the Piedmontese entrepreneur with ghëddo - an unmistakable flair. Dynamic even when still, she loves to think outside the box. Originally from Levice, a tiny village in the Alta Langa, she claims to be a teetotaller (astemia in Italian) and decides to open an unconventional winery in Barolo.
L”Astemia is a declaration of love for her land and a return to her roots, to the times when her grandfather would walk hand in hand with her through the vineyards, teaching her the vines’ secrets. It is also the gamble of a woman entrepreneur in the food, pharmaceutical and design sectors, with famous brands such as Gufram, Memphis and Meritalia. She uses design and architecture to give shape to a surreal and dreamlike poetry, where the language of narrative offers a modern interpretation of an ancestral place.
